WebbLabs Technical Associates has been offering a variety of software solutions to help businesses take advantage of the rapid changes in today’s technology. The following are short descriptions of some of the more recent projects we have completed.
ClinfoSource is a startup company that provides training for organizations in the clinical research industry. WebbLabs is currently developing and maintaining software for the www.clinfosource.com web based training. ClinfoSource offers the web based training as an online service to individauls and organizations, as well as implementations of the training software on corporate intranet sites.
Kaplan Toys provides educational materials and supplies to the state of North Carolina. WebbLabs Technical Associates developed a secure site using ssl encryption and requiring a login by only approved state agency officials from the state of North Carolina for the purchase of education materials and supplies. The site includes a complete online shopping cart and credit card processing system. The system was integrated with Kaplan’s existing peoplesoft solution that is used for their core business functions. This system runs on Linux servers using Chilisoft ASP and uses Win2k server with sql server 7 on the back end. www.kaplan4nc.com
Official Payments has offered payment processing using telephony services to a myriad of government and municipal clients. We developed the payment center on the web using a data driven custom forms engine to provide support (accept payments on behalf of) of over 700 different entities. The latest offering is support of IRS tax payments beginning in year 2001, which we developed. The payment processing site surpassed all expectations on performance and efficiency. The site is built on Mikso Technology using Windows 2000 Advanced Server, SQL 7.0, ASP, COM+, and IIS 5. www.officialpayments.com
WebbLabs has been developing custom software for Fiserv since the beginning of time. That is almost since the beginning of WebbLabs 15 years ago. Fiserv provides software products and data processing services to the financial industry. Over the years WebbLabs has co-developed many applications for Fiserv and their clients including, teller systems, new account setup, loan origination, and back-office systems. Most of the applications produced for Fiserv have been front-end applications to their mainframe systems. These mainframe systems have included IBM mainframes, Unisys, IBM AS400, and HP.
DiamondCluster is a digital strategy consulting firm. DiamondCluster and WebbLabs teamed up on several projects including such national customers as: Western Union, CGU Insurance, and Detroit Edison.
A team of WebbLabs’s Java/EJB developers joined a team to develop www.thesauce.com. The Sauce is a web application designed to support the restaurant industry. Business to business ordering, staffing and employment assistance, expert recipes and tips for running a restaurant are all just a part of this pre-IPO dot com client. The site is built on a Unix platform using the following technologies: EJB, JAVA, C++, Oracle8i, UNIX, Weblogic Application Server, Toplink, Servlet, JSP.
WebbLabs Technical Associates co-developed this e-commerce site that provides person-to-person money transfer. The technology behind this site includes IIS 4, MTS, SQL 7.0, Message Queue components, XML, and custom Winsock connectivity to Tandem mainframes.
To penetrate the post energy deregulation market, Detroit Edison program consisted of selling energy at cost with a membership fee. WebbLabs co-implemented a web based customer support and billing system for Detroit Edison. The Technology used: NT 4.0, SQL 6.5, MTS, IIS, ASP, HTML, DHTML, and ADO, with a Vantive CSR component.
